Parent participation
Everyone needs parents, and the German Saturday School Tonbridge is no exception. Our existence and survival depends on our parents’ help and initiative. All our teachers are mothers whose children attend the school. And every German-speaking parent commits to helping twice per term as a classroom assistant.
But we also need a steady supply of volunteers who work behind the scenes, whether it’s to keep an eye on our finances, to negotiate with our landlord or to help prepare parties and festivities.
Not forgetting the fun, there are also plenty of opportunities for the parents to meet socially – whether at one of our many parties from lantern processions to summer picnics or at the monthly stammtable, where parents meet up in a relaxed atmosphere of a pub.
